Beijing Jingdu Children’s Hospital Hosts Second “Good Doctors Forum”

On April 20, 2023, the Medical Education Department of Beijing Jingdu Children's Hospital, a subsidiary of UIB Healthcare Group, organized the second“Good Doctors Forum”in 2023. Dr. Hongyan Liu, deputy director of the Department of Hematological Tumors, presided over the academic discussion. More than 40 medical staff from the Department of Respiratory Allergy, Gastroenterology, Hematology, Emergency and Critical Care Medicine, Special Needs, Central Laboratory, General Internal Medicine and Pharmacy participated in the forum.

This forum focused on the process of treatment of a 4-year-old child with "late-stage rhabdomyosarcoma" in Beijing Jingdu Children's Hospital, and discussed palliative care.

Dr. Jianming Fang from the Hematology Tumor Department of Beijing Jingdu Children's Hospital introduced the patient's medical history and main laboratory data, raised questions for discussion, and introduced the diagnosis and treatment process of the case. Head nurse Xinxin Yang introduced the work of palliative care from the perspective of nursing. Yuan Yuan, a social worker, shared the work of palliative treatment from the perspective of volunteers. Wenwen Qu from the Department of Respiratory Allergy, Zhuxin Geng from the Department of Gastroenterology, Chongfeng Gao from the Department of Hematology, Cuiwei Wang from the Department of Hematology, Kani Zhao from the Department of Special Needs, and Yue Li from the Department of Emergency and Critical Care Medicine, respectively expressed their opinions the perspectives of their medical specialties. In addition, Deputy Director Hongyan Liu comprehensively introduced the domestic and foreign status quo of palliative care and the progress of the hospital in palliative care.
